Olaf Wipperfürth is a photography artist + director, born in Düsseldorf ( Germany )
He lives currently in Paris. Working worldwide.
Olaf studied philosophy and art history in Germany before moving to Paris in the late nineties to finalize his doctorate,
“L'instant dans l'art et dans la philosophie contemporaine” - The “moment"- in contemporary art and philosophy, published in 1999.
After his doctorate and supplementary studies at the Düsseldorf Art Academie, Olaf exclusively dedicated his life and passion to photography, art and film,
projecting his theoretical and conceptual knowledge into his artistic universe. His fine art is shown in various exhibitions and book publications, and explores mainly the themes
of absence, trace and ephemeral space.
Since over two decades Olaf Wipperfürth generated an captivating body of work in beauty, portrait, fashion photography, deeply influenced by the imagery of film noir, contemporary dance,
art and german 80 th subculture. His exquisite lighting combined with his talent of capturing movement and emotion, makes his playful cinematic photography, unique and widely internationally renowned.
His work got published in leading magazines and in major brand advertisements throughout the world.
